Tom Fisher
Vice President Cloud Computing, SuccessFactors
Tom Fisher recently joined Success Factors and is responsible for the company’s Cloud initiatives and third party developer programs.
Tom comes to SuccessFactors from DriveCam the global leader in improving driver risk behavior. Tom served as CIO and Senior Vice President of Engineering. Responsibilities included Engineering solutions that DriveCam sold and delivered as a Software as a Service (SaaS) and the business systems that integrated customer service and advanced subscription management. Tom was recognized as the San Diego Technology Executive of the Year in 2008 for his accomplishments at DriveCam. Most recently, Tom collaborated on the development of a Cloud company designed to develop and deploy multi-tenant solutions for Enterprise customers across a number of Cloud providers.
Previously Tom was vice president of IT for QUALCOMM CDMA Technologies Group – the largest fabless semi-conductor in the world. Tom had worldwide responsibility for the business and engineering systems that support QUALCOMM’s semiconductor and global positioning businesses.
Prior to joining QUALCOMM, Tom was vice president for architecture and technology strategy and acting Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at eBay. His responsibilities at eBay included helping to redesign and manage the delivery of the Web site after several massive outages. He was also responsible for establishing the firm’s technology strategy to support the massive scale and shifting business requirements. Tom was responsible for significant business development strategies at eBay including the creation and establishment of eBay’s Developers Program around the first release of the eBay API.
Prior to eBay, Fisher served as the chief architect and vice president of global architecture, security and vendor management for Gateway Computers. At Gateway, he managed the firm's major e-commerce initiatives, deployed the company’s financing, ERP, CRM, and SFA applications, and led the technical due diligence for the firm’s venture and strategic activities. In addition, he led Gateway's IT outsourcing efforts.
Fisher has also worked as a senior executive in technology strategy, business development, and M&A for a variety of software and technology companies including IBM, KnowledgeWare, Exactium and Seer Technologies.
Fisher graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Carolina – Charlotte. He is married to his wife Judy, for over 25 years, has three children and resides in San Diego, California.
