BT is to resell Microsoft's Cloud Computing and collaboration services to large enterprises.
BT is the first telecommunications and IT provider to resell the Dedicated Business Productivity Online Suite to clients. The Suite includes Microsoft Exchange Online, Microsoft SharePoint Online and Microsoft Office Communications Online.
“This agreement enables BT and Microsoft to provide large organisations with fully integrated Cloud-based business collaboration tools, while reducing their overall networked IT and infrastructure costs,” said Neil Sutton, vice-president of global portfolio at BT Global Services. “The services will also allow customers to build on existing legacy systems, while integrating voice and data applications.”
BT will embed the suite into its multi-protocol layer switching (MPLS) networks, giving customers a fully hosted service that includes power, performance management, maintenance and software upgrades. It will add Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) digital voice services and MS Office Communications Server for voice applications integration.
