Netsuite’s SuiteCloud Platform-as-a-Service offering will become increasingly key in defining the company’s future direction and helping it boost its vertical market presence, chief technology officer Evan Goldberg has signalled.
During his first ever keynote for the Software-as-a-Service vendor, which took place at its SuiteWorld customer conference in San Francisco on Wednesday, Goldberg said:
Chief executive Zach Nelson has in the past signalled the importance of encouraging vertical market ISVs and developers to create applications and modules to build out and complement its core ERP offering. In August last year, he told our sister site myCustomer.com:
In order to take on such competitors effectively as they increasingly turn their attention to the SaaS space, it will be crucial for the firm to develop a credible partner ecosystem, particularly in the vertical market space, that can at least rival theirs’.
As for further expected developments in terms of Netsuite’s SaaS-based offering, the focus will be on making it more customisable and adding support for more mobile and social applications.
